In memoria di Pio Scilligo

Oggi, 3 luglio 2009, alle 8,50 si è spento serenamente e lentamente il nostro carissimo Pio.
I funerali saranno celebrati domenica 5 Luglio alle ore 9,30 presso la chiesa dell’Università Pontificia Salesiana, piazza dell’Ateneo Salesiano, 1 - Roma.
La preghiera comunitaria del rosario è oggi 3 Luglio alle ore 21,00 nella cappella Gesù Maestro presso l’Università.

The image it's of Pio with five generations of the Imboden family in Napa, CA, USA. My father's great-grandfather, Guiseppe Imboden, emigrated from Formazza, and when my parents traveled there Pio, who is our distant cousin, very generously showed them around and introduced them to many relatives. Thereafter, whenever he was in California we visited with him. He was a lovely, brilliant man, with so many varied accomplishments, and so generous and kind. We will all miss him. I am sending you our high school graduation photo taken in Hong Kong in 1963 at St. Louis School (one of the Salesian schools there).

Fr. Scilligo was seated in the front row, 7th from the right. His signature was in shown in front of him in the picture. Fr. Scilligo was then the Prefect of Studies at the school.

My name is Peter Yam and was educated in St. Louis School from 1956 to 1965. I was seated to the far right of the front row.

We all remembered Fr. Scilligo with fond memory. He was all prepared to come back to Hong Kong to join our 45th Anniversary reunion in November in 2008.
